Sports Ambassadors
At John Hampden, we have a keen team of Y6 Sports Ambassadors who play an active role in promoting, organising and delivering more sporting opportunities for our pupils. They regularly take the lead in a variety of different ways, including running and organising activities during their own PE sessions and playing a key part in whole-school activities, such as our ‘Multi-Sports’ days, our ‘Excalibur’ inter-house competitions and Sports Days. They are a valuable asset in raising the profile of PE and sport in our school.
“I wanted to be a Sports Ambassador because sport is the best! I love it when I get to referee and support different sports and activities across the school, including Sports Day, cross country trials, Excalibur and multisports. And I love it when sport brings different people together. I think Sports Ambassadors get the best ride in Year 6 and everyone should try to be one!”
“Being a Sports Ambassador is amazing! You get to play lots of different sports and help teach the younger children in school. We get to help with Excalibur and Sports Day and getting things ready for PE lessons. I love sport and I love encouraging everyone to try take part in sport. It’s great to see the pupils and teachers of JHS being so fit and healthy!”
