Year 6 have taken part in the ‘Junior Citizens’ workshops at Rewley Road Fire Station in Oxford. The afternoon included learning about and exploring a range of different safety and first aid scenarios, which was a great opportunity for the children to extend their citizenship skills in a fun and interactive way. The different scenarios that the children explored included water safety, first aid, cycling, home safety, stranger-danger, railway safety and online safety. Each one looked at how they could stay safe and what to do in an emergency, including making 999 calls. These were some really valuable learning opportunities, which our children engaged really well with – a huge well done to our Year 6s for their enthusiasm and quick-thinking throughout the visit.
