On Wednesday 27th November Year 3 went on a school trip to Didcot Railway Museum. There was a 1 hour delay! After that we finally got there. The first thing we did was learn about the Great Brunel. After that we went to the museum with all the really old Great Western Trains. Alan was our guide and he took us on an old steam train. I learnt that the fire is sometimes white! Also the cart for the coal is really BIG! A few minutes later we went to build lego, boats and buildings. At lunch time we had our lunch in an old railway carriage. After lunch as a class we built train tracks to take presents from Elf land to John Hampden school. We had to build bridges across tables. Lastly we went for a ride on a steam train. It was really old. What a day! My favourite part was looking at all the old trains.

On Wednesday 27th November my classmates and I travelled to Didcot Railway Centre in a coach. The journey took 1 hour 30 minutes because of a flood on the roads.
Once we arrived, we went into a train shed and a guide showed us how a steam train worked. This was really interesting.
After that we built a bridge out of lego. This was my favourite activity of the day.
After lunch, we went to learn about early signalling, which was really fun as I got to pull on the lever.
Finally at the end of the day we all had a ride on the train. I loved it!
