Our KS2 Cross Country squad have competed in the county finals at Horspath Athletics Ground in Oxford. Squads from across the county came to compete after qualifying from their district rounds, meaning the standard during these finals was incredibly tough. Over 400 children took part, with more than 100 runners in each race.
Lots of rain before the event meant that conditions were challenging, but that didn’t stop our squad from showing huge amounts of determination and resilience and a bucket-load of John Hampden Spirit!
Our teams finished as follows:
Y3/4 Girls – 11th place
Y3/4 Boys – 3rd place – BRONZE!
Y5/6 Girls – 11th place
Y5/6 Boys – 5th place
Huge congratulations to everyone who took part and a special well done to our 3/4 boys for finishing in bronze medal position! We also had lots of our runners who finished in the first twenty of their races too. Great running, everyone!
Well done, Team JHS!
