On Tuesday 8th November, the children of John Hampden had a surprise visitor! Abbie and her rider, Mo (an ex-John Hampden pupil) came to meet us on a week where we are looking at the meaning of remembrance ahead of our whole school service on Friday. Children from Nursery to Year 6 learned about the uniform, how horses were handled during World War I and were even allowed to handle a replica World War I rifle.
The children (and staff) were very excited to meet Abbie, who was impeccably behaved throughout! We would like to say a BIG thank you to Chinnor War Horses for coming to our school and bringing the meaning of remembrance to life.
