On Wednesday 15th June, Year 3 and 4 visited Tetsworth for the partnership football tournament between Barley Hill, Mill Lane, Tetsworth and John Hampden. We took 24 children to the event with 3 teams. They represented the school brilliantly and behaved so well in the searing hot temperatures! Luckily, a short gazebo lesson from Mr Nutt and we managed to have some shade.
Teams B and C played well in their groups but did not make it through to the quarter finals stages. Teams B and C showed great sportsmanship and they really played well. Some great goal keeping was on show! Team A progressed through all their group games and won every match, including a tense penalty shootout to get to the final. In the final, we met the talented Barley Hill team and we lost 3-1, despite Stan scoring an amazing equalizer to make it 1-1. Mrs Warner and Mrs Braybrook were so incredibly proud of all the children and all we can say is .. watch this space as we are sure we have some amazing footballers in coming years when they reach Years 5 and 6.
