The year six children were lucky to have a local company, Lucy Electric, in to teach them science circuits. The two engineers, Nick and Elaine, taught us about what they did and about how supplies and how much electricity is in a house plug compared to factories.
After an interesting talk, they then gave us some equipment including a cup, 3 pens, a role of tape, a motor, a cell and a switch and showed us how to create a dancing robot pen.
The children found this a very fun experience, finding it enjoyable to make different patterns on the paper by changing the shape of the blue tac that was on the motor. Some children made full circles and others made swirly patterns.
We would like to say a big thank you to Lucy Electric particularly Nick and Elaine for making this so enjoyable.
