On Tuesday 14th September, Year 4 ventured to Ancient Egypt for the day. Our school was alive with Egygtian Gods, Goddesses, Mummies and Sphinx! Read this account of the day by Year 4 pupil Wilf…
First up we huddled in Mrs Parry’s classroom to watch a video clip, basically the prologue to the escape room! Next, we cat walked in our costumes, strutting down the hall like pros!
After that, we all got split into three groups. My group, Ms Nichols’ group, went into the escape room first. Here we were challenged to solve puzzles as a team, collecting clues, breaking codes and opening locks to reveal the ancient Egyptian secrets inside.
Mrs Parry’s group fiddled with fake, ancient Egyptian poo to discover the ancient Egyptian’s diet and Mrs Robert’s group made ornate and intricate scarab beetles out of clay. The groups then went around to each activity over the course of the day.
The last thing our classes shared was some ancient Egyptian food, which was delicious! Sadly, that was it, a once in a lifetime experience!
Roll on Viking Day!
