Our amazing Year 6 swimming squad have represented John Hampden at the county swimming finals day, held at Radley College (near Abingdon). The squad qualified for the event following their success at the Oxford event earlier in the year.
The finals day events included freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly and backstroke, with each of our pupils competing in an individual race and two relay events.
There was plenty of tough competition at the event, since our pupils were competing alongside the qualifiers from across the county. Despite not succeeding in our races, the squad need to be massively congratulated on their unwavering enthusiasm, determination and incredible support of each other – it was a real pleasure to see them enjoying themselves as much they did! They should be incredibly proud of themselves for being such brilliant representatives of our school – well done!
Also, a big thank you to our PTFA for organising the new JHS swim hats for the squad to wear during the event- they looked amazing!
