We are delighted to announce that John Hampden School have achieved the School Games Gold Mark Award for the 2018/19 academic year!
The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme, launched in 2012 and facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust, to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition and sport across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.
The 2018-19 year has included more physical activity and competitive sport for our pupils than ever before! We’ve seen huge successes in loads of events throughout the year and our pupils are always eager to represent John Hampden at every opportunity. We have taken part in numerous sporting events and competitions within the community, and we have held lots of our own events at school (including our termly ‘Excalibur’ Challenges and Multisports events) which have provided opportunities for competition and teamwork, and they have allowed our older children to take the lead.
Our Year 6 Sports Ambassadors are a fantastic asset to our school and they have helped to provide and lead lots of sporting experiences for our pupils. We are extremely proud of all our pupils for their dedication to all aspects of school sport.
Our JHS Sports Week is due to take place next week (24-28 June) and will give even more brilliant, sporting opportunities to all of our pupils!
