Term 3’s Music Lesson focus on African Music in the run-up to Arts Week culminated in an amazing ONEDRUM day for all our children, with dancing and singing sessions for the younger children and African Drumming workshops for KS2 classes. It was a magical experience for the children, ONEDRUM delivering magnificently on their promise that they would ‘bring Africa to us.’ In the final assembly, the whole of Year 5 performed ‘Call and Response’ rhythms, dressed in traditional African costumes and playing djembe drums, whilst the rest of the school sang along to African songs. The grand finale, much enjoyed by all the children, was the teachers performing African dance-moves en masse!
