The Year 6 Art Ambassadors and House Captains came up with the idea for a JHS Wild Bake Off on Thursday 24th January and the families of John Hampden School responded with their usual enthusiasm!
The cakes were abundant and the standard was exceptional- I wasn’t the only member of staff who was pleased that they did not have the task of picking a winner- that was the Art Ambassadors and House Captains job!
It was a difficult decision but decide they did:
First- Iris Walters-Cook with a beautiful and very artistically painted Parrot creation!
Second- Cameron Clark and Toby Borgnis with an amazing Coral snake, complete with scales.
Third-Ruby Western with a gorgeous giraffe.
It was a brilliant event, well attended by all and a great fundraiser!
We raised £210.40 towards the workshop for Year 6 children to work with Emily Cooling, a willow mask making artist, as part of Artsweek 2019.
Thank you to all who entered the bake off, to the Year 6 staff, the Arts Ambassadors, the House Captains and of course, everyone who bought a cake.
A big thank you to everyone who entered the bake off, to the Year 6 staff, the Arts Ambassadors, the House Captains and, of course, to all of you who bought a cake. We made the fantactic sum of £210.40! It was a great fundraiser. This money will go towards the cost of the artist who will be working with Year 6 during Artsweek.
