On Wednesday 1stNovember, John Hampden School took part in a Family Lantern Workshopin the Jackson Hall.
It was a busy session with parents, carers and JHS children, past and present, taking part in the making and decorating of willow lanterns for the Christmas Lights Parade on Friday 30thNovember. We were aided in our endeavours by the artist Emily Cooling and some Lord Williams Year 7 students, whose help was greatly appreciated.
The workshop was funded by Thame Town Council, providing not only the artist but the resources as well. It was a great opportunity for the children and parents to work alongside an artist and to develop new skills along the way.
The children made some beautiful lanterns and we look forward to seeing them in their full glory at the parade. We’re sure it will be a magical site!
Thank you to all who came to the event and we hope to see you all at the Lantern Parade on Friday 30thNovember.
